Catherine Wood Burton has considered herself an artist since winning the Arkansas Young Artist Competition as a sophomore at Hall High School in 1986.

She holds a BA in Creative Writing  and graduated from The Art Institute of Dallas with a degree in Fashion Design where she was awarded Most Outstanding Portfolio of her senior class.
She has studied at the Paris Fashion Institute in correlation with Parson's School of Design, and considers herself a perpetual student of The Arkansas Arts Center where she takes art classes.

Her passion for art and creativity stems from her love of treasure-hunting and her innate ability to extract beauty and color in the simplistic and sometimes mundane. She is inspired by the planes, lines and layers that make the human figure and explores many different mediums.

Up to this point, she has privately sold and shown her work through her website.  She is super excited to have a space at Thea and looks forward to being the featured artist for the month of July at Starving Artist Cafe in Argenta.
