The Governor's Culinary Challenge

Returning to the Capital Hotel, this year’s Governor’s Culinary Challenge, set for Monday, October 19, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. promises a feast of entertainment, including gourmet bites from 8 of Arkansas’s most touted chefs, signature cocktails from the innovative genius of 3 local mixologists, and the lively jazz of Dr. Danny Fletcher and company. Presented by Malvern National Bank and chaired by Peter Brave of Brave New Restaurant, this year’s event features a lineup of chefs from across the state, including: Payne Harding, Cache; Capi Peck, Trio’s; Marc Guizol, Capital Hotel; Matthew Bell, South on Main; Stephen Burrow, Forty Two; Diana Bratton, Café 1217 and Taco Mama; Jamie McAfee, Pine Bluff Country Club; and Cassidy Johnson, Samantha’s Taproom and Wood Grill. Mixologists include: Jared Teague, Heights Taco and Tamale; Luiggi Uzcategui, Big Orange; and David Richmond, Skinny J’s. All funds raised from the Governor’s Culinary Challenge will benefit Thea’s scholarship program, awarding 30 scholarships totaling $80,000 to Arkansas high school seniors in 2016.
