Registration for Thea Foundation’s 2017 Scholarship Competitions Is Open

As of Monday, August 15, 2016, Thea’s annual scholarship competition are open for registration, which will close the Monday before each competition in the spring of 2017. Thea Foundation’s scholarship program, which awards 30 scholarships each year ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 to Arkansas high school seniors, partners with 27 colleges and universities in Arkansas and across the nation, who match or exceed Thea’s scholarships, translating to more than $2 million in scholarships since 2002.
Thea’s scholarship competitions are open to high school seniors, home schooled seniors who list the 11th grade as their last grade level completed on their Notice of Intent to Home School on file with the Arkansas Department of Education for the current school year, and students seeking their GEDs with intent to attend college in fall of 2017.
Thea scholarships are never awarded based on test scores, GPAs, or intent to major in the arts, only based on their craft in the fields of visual arts, performing arts, fashion design, film, creative writing, and poetry slam.

Registration and dates TBA via AETN (Arkansas Educational Television Network). There are film scholarships, each totaling $2,500, awarded in the areas of directing, scriptwriting, editing and cinematography.
