Help Thea Restock the Closet This #GivingTuesday

This #GivingTuesday, Thea Foundation and Arkansas teachers have a great need.

Just two months ago, we made the big announcement that we were DOUBLING our budget for Arkansas teachers in need of supplies this school year, giving $50,000 in art supplies and creative materials to underfunded classrooms across the state. Well, it’s just November and we’re down to $7,000 left in our Art Closet funds. By mid-November, we’re expecting to be completely out of funds, with six more months left in the school year.

Clearly, Arkansas teachers are in great need of supplies.

This #GivingTuesday, Nov. 27, our goal is to replenish Thea’s Art Closet so that we can continue to fund classrooms in need across Arkansas. Gifts made by generous donors like you on this global day of giving will help put paintbrushes, instruments, clay, theatrical supplies, dance clothes and much, much more into the hands of public school students in Arkansas.

Last year, 98% of the schools we helped were majority free- or reduced-lunch schools, meaning students and their parents more often than not just don’t have the money to fund arts materials — and neither do teachers.

Thea’s Art Closet was created to keep the arts alive and funded in Arkansas schools, fighting the trend of cutting funding to the arts in our schools.

Show your support of the arts and teachers in your state by donating to Thea Foundation this #GivingTuesday, Nov. 27. Your gift gives local students access to the life-changing power of the arts.
