Thea Foundation Seeks New Director of Development

Thea Foundation’s Director of Development is responsible for developing fundraising events and programs that will ensure financial growth by executing best fundraising practices. The ideal candidate will carry out responsibilities in a manner that supports a collaborative, donor centric culture. Responsible for managing and maintaining a major donor program, acquiring new volunteers, corporations and sponsors, the Director of Development acts as a positive and supportive partner with donors, volunteers, corporate sponsors, national partners, and fellow Thea Foundation team members. This position will work to raise awareness about the Thea Foundation at events and other Foundation-sponsored programs as well as provide supporters with up-to-date information on Thea Foundation programs, arts education research findings, and opportunities to provide support.

The Director of Development position is a full-time, salaried position at Thea Foundation’s North Little Rock offices in downtown Argenta.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspire financial support for our statewide programs as well as expand our fundraising to allow us to further our mission of enhancing arts education in Arkansas schools
  • Develop and manage major donor program
  • Implement fundraising plans and budgets designed to achieve annual growth
  • Ensure key fundraising best practices and benchmarks are achieved, doing so in a manner that supports a collaborative, donor centric culture and positive partnerships with donors, volunteers, corporate sponsors, national partners, and fellow team members
  • Identify, recruit, and cultivate new corporate sponsors, committee members, chairs, and volunteers
  • Oversee renewal and expansion of volunteers, committee members and sponsors
  • Network with Thea supporters, volunteers, major donors and corporate sponsors to upgrade and recruit new business
  • Recruit, train and cultivate board members, fundraising honorees, and committee members
  • Attend, plan and work Thea fundraisers and events, including but not limited to Into the Blue, Blue Plate Special, scholarship awards ceremony, Art Department receptions, Art Walks, donor recognition events and Thea Paves the Way.
  • Create and maintain plan for cultivation of individual giving
  • Develop sponsorship and grant proposals
  • Conduct Corporate recruitment events
  • Work independently and execute projects without need of micromanagement
  • Support coworkers

Prerequisites:

  • Demonstrated experience in fundraising, philanthropy, communications or a related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud software is a plus, but not required.
